GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — Temperatures are expected to stay in the 80s for the next few days, but don’t think we are even close to setting a record high for May 31st.
According to the National Weather Service Green Bay office, many communities across Central and Northeastern Wisconsin passed the 100-degree mark on this day in 1934.
Among the records that were set 89 years ago, today include Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids hitting 105. Wausau, Tomahawk, and Oshkosh were all one degree cooler at 104. Merrill hit 101, and Antigo topped out at 100 even.
The cool spot was the Green Bay area, where temperatures were in the upper 90s to 92 in Marinette.
High temperatures will climb close to 90F this afternoon. However, on this date in 1934 record heat was reported across the state. #wiwx pic.twitter.com/yFhHyRpZsO
