DAIRY NEWS – High-energy leadership training, hands-on labs, and interaction with researchers and grad students are in store for high school students attending the 2023 Stride® Youth Leadership Conference presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW). Students ages 15 to 18 are invited to participate in the fast-paced, one-day workshop scheduled for Saturday, September 23, at the UW-Madison Stock Pavilion. The program will begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 6:15 p.m.
“PDPW is excited to present the 2023 Stride Youth Leadership Conference at the campus of UW-Madison,” said John Haag, Dane, Wis., dairy producer and PDPW board president. “Hands-on labs and on-campus experiences at one of the 10 largest research institutions in the country is a great opportunity for students to build their leadership skills in a unique environment.”
The leadership sessions will be facilitated by Michael Hoffman, founder and owner of Igniting Performance, Inc. He’ll show students how to effectively influence others, take initiative, identify traits of role models and more clearly understand their personal influence. He’ll also enlighten teens to the technology, tactics and tools at their disposal to better serve their communities and peers.
Students will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with UW-Madison experts and graduate students while learning more about future career fields – whether they’re currently interested in agriculture or not.
The interactive conference is designed for students ages 15 to 18. Registration must be received by Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023. This program is made possible in part by Professional Dairy Producers Foundation and WE Energies Foundation.
