MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — The Wisconsin state patrol will be getting more doses of Narcan to help recover victims of opioid overdoses.
State attorney general Josh Kaul says the funding is coming from lawsuits against drug manufacturers.
“We filed suit against Purdue pharma, we also joined multi state investigations into opioid distributors,” said Kaul.
In total, over $750 million will come to Wisconsin as part of settlements.
Kaul says that funding has helped purchase over 30-thousand units of Narcan, but also will go towards drug abatement programs across the state.
