STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A convicted sex offender has reached the end of his mandatory sentence and will be released in Stevens Point next week.
Officers say Jesus Garza will be released to a home on Water Street on Tuesday. He was found guilty of child enticement, sexual assault of a child, disorderly conduct, and battery back in 2019, and was sentenced to four years in the state prison system.
He’ll now serve six years of probation with several stipulations including no contact with the victim or the victim’s family and no contact with minor females unless pre-approved by his parole officer.
Charges stemmed from an incident where the 34-year-old contacted the girl through social media. The conversation led to Garza picking the girl up and taking her to his home. The two then engaged in sexual activity.
Garza was 30 at time, and according to police had lied about his age to the girl.
He must also maintain his address on the state sex offender registry and absolute sobriety. He will also be outfitted with a GPS monitoring device.
