MADISON – The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation invites farmers and agriculturists to attend the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour on October 20 at Bush Brothers & Company in Augusta.
The purpose of the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour is to offer different perspectives regarding environmental stewardship across Wisconsin. The tour series will highlight sustainability throughout the food supply chain, bringing together farmer and retail perspectives.
During the tour, attendees will learn what food processors and preparers are doing to be responsible stewards of their resources.
“It takes all of us to meet our sustainability goals,” said WFBF President Kevin Krentz. “From farmers to food processors to grocery stores to the dinner table, we can all work together to protect our environment and preserve our resources. This tour series highlights those efforts throughout the food supply chain.”
Bush Brothers & Company is committed to serving their communities with quality jobs and food, respecting the earth’s resources and working hard every day to deliver their best – one bean at a time.
The tour will take place at Bush Brother’s facilities in Augusta. Attendees will learn about Bush Brother’s manufacturing and sustainability priorities followed by a tour of their state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility.
Following the tour, attendees will enjoy lunch at Foster’s Fireside – a locally owned and operated restaurant with a focus on fresh, local and made-from-scratch ingredients. During lunch, attendees will discuss ingredient sourcing priorities with Foster’s Fireside management.
Pre-registration for the Leaders of the Land Food Processing Tour is preferred. Registration is $20 for Farm Bureau members and non-members. Lunch will be included in the registration cost. Half of the registration cost will be donated to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation and Feeding Wisconsin. To register, visit https://bit.ly/
