MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Brewers’ owner says he wants to stay in Milwaukee and is optimistic that the team will get some public money to do so.
Mark Attanasio told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that talks about a stadium funding deal are progressing, though he didn’t offer any specifics. Attanasio says more people are realizing that the Stadium District is running out of money fast, and that something needs to be done.
He dismissed talk of leaving, though he didn’t rule it out.
Lawmakers in Madison continue to look for a way to spend public money on America Family Field, though leaders in Milwaukee continue to say ‘No.’
