(WSAU)– Even with a 2-and-a-half-hour rain delay, the Milwaukee Brewers came out victorious against the New York Yankees defeating them 9-2.
The Yankees had 4 hits and just 7 in the first 2 games with in the series against the Brewers. They’ve lost 3 straight by a combined 27-7 after winning eight of nine and are in danger of their first losing season since 1992.
The Brewers went 2-0 in the 4th on Willy Adames’ little league homerun. He hit an RBI triple and continued home as 1st basemen DJ LeMaheiu of the Yankees, throw flew past third for an error.
New York tied the score in the bottom half of the 4th, but Tyrone Taylor scored his his 6th homer of the season. He was added to the lineup when Christian Yelich was taken out due to lower back soreness, 10 minutes prior to the start of the game. The Yankee’s pitcher Jonathan Loáisiga, allowed 5 runs over 1 2/3 innings in the 1st two games of the series.
After Taylor homered, Mark Canha hit an RBI single while William Contreras had a two-run single in the 9th when Ron Marinaccio walked in 2 runs.
The series finale with the Yankees is today at 12:35 P.M.
