WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (WSAU) — Wisconsin jumped out to an early 14-0 lead over Purdue and never looked back in a 38-17 victory to open Big Ten play on Friday night.
QB Tanner Mordecai and Braelon Allen each recorded two rushing touchdowns, with Allen picking up 116 yards on the ground along with one pass reception for nine yards.
Chimere Dike caught three balls for 67 yards to lead the receiving department.
Mordecai finished 17/27 for 174 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Kicker Nathanial Vakos was a perfect 3/3 on both field goals and extra points with a long of 48.
Allen’s performance came just days after he was asked about his lack of touches in the Badger’s win over Georgia Southern, saying he didn’t know why he wasn’t more involved.
Wisconsin will have a bye next week before hosting Rutgers on October 7th for homecoming at Camp Randall. Kickoff time has yet to be confirmed, reports have indicated that the game could be streamed on Peacock as part of NBC’s new media rights deal with the B1G.
