MINOCQUA, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Where is the beef, may be the question on people’s minds throughout the Badger state.
The annual Beef-A-Rama in Minocqua provides the town with an answer to that question.
The town of Minocqua has been hosting a meat festival on the last Saturday of September for more than 50 years.
Thousands of people flocked to the downtown streets to sample various types of meat, including beef, cooked by vendors from all over the Midwest.
Even though it was raining when the festivities began, none of the attendees or roasters let that stop them from having a good time.
The event’s vendors and roasters appreciated seeing attendees taste their tasty samples.
“I love being amongst the people I love to share my passion for cooking,” Bill Cubik told WAOW, one of the vendors who cooks for the event every year.
The morning’s events downtown featured the rump roast run.
The remainder of the day featured lots of live entertainment, a beef-eating competition, kid-friendly activities, and arts and crafts displays.
Roasters and vendors are eager to repeat the process the next year.
