MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Wisconsin’s Republican House members are not happy about the ouster of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker.
6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman says the far-right members who made it happen “have no Plan B”
“Now we’re right in the middle of the budget hunt. And we need a speaker so desperately. And the more I think about it, I don’t think anybody else wants the job right now,” said Grothman.
McCarthy says he won’t run for the job again.
A government shutdown is again possible next month, and the House can’t act on legislation until a new Speaker is elected.
