MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) -There are now additional health services available in Marshfield. After years of being an unused space, Family Health Center is starting primary care services where one of the original Marshfield Clinics once stood.
Bringing health services back to what was the Marshfield Family Health Center in the 70’s was a long time coming.
The pandemic delayed things a bit, but once things settled down, the location’s staff wanted to have a grand opening.
Primary care services opened this week and are available to anyone to come in and get basic ailments treated. There are also drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, too.
“We’ve been working with the Wood County Jail and a lot of collaborators that have helped us understand that there’s still a lot of people who want treatment, but treatment’s not available,” said Family Health Center Marshfield CEO Greg Nycz. He said not just only the proper medications will be there for their rehab and recovery services; there will also be high quality counseling to compliment it.
A pharmacy is still being worked on and will be open soon.
