KRONENWETTER, WI (WSAU) – The village of Kronenwetter will continue to have an interim village administrator for the rest of the year.
The village board voted on Thursday to extend Dan Mahoney’s contract due to the start date for new Administrator Peter Kampfer being moved back due to personal issues.
The board discussed the position briefly after some trustees wondered how many questions the position had received in recent days and if the staff truly required the extra help. In the end, the board decided that having Mahoney available in case difficult questions were raised was worth the low-cost contract.
Kronenwetter has been without a long-term administrator since last summer, and since then, the board has seen the community go through several interim administrators, such as Duane Gau, Dan Mahoney, and Kim Manley.
Former Interim Administrator Kim Manley’s contract with the village recently expired, leaving former Plover Administrator Dan Mahoney as the top option to help fill in some of the gaps as he had earlier this year.
Mahoney will serve in a part-time capacity, providing the village mainly with email and phone support on issues that staff may have questions about.
