WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) – Lewie Benitz, a former wrestling coach at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School, passed away earlier this week.
Benitz spent more than 40 years as the wrestling coach at Lincoln High and was honored with many awards throughout that time, including inductions into the Halls of Fame for Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
He also won 700 dual meet victories and 17 state titles during his time as coach.
