WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The Boys & Girls Club of Wausau is asking for donations after an anonymous donor offered to match any donation made this month, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000.
The donation would be one of the largest the organization has received and would help fund many of the essential programs that serve the more than 2,000 members at their four locations, along with an additional 3,500 children that the club supports through other initiatives.
Chief Executive Officer for the Wausau area Kim Larsen spoke about the donor’s offer and the large difference it would make not just for the club but for the members who attend programs saying, “This incredibly generous investment in the Boys & Girls Club will help ensure hundreds of kids and teens have a caring, supportive environment where they belong every day after school and throughout the summer. As the number of young people the Club serves continues to increase, we are grateful for the opportunity and investment. With the support of our community, we provide consistent access to hands-on learning, programs, activities, and opportunities to help kids and teens learn and grow together we enrich and transform the lives of young people.”
Larsen invited anyone who may be interested in joining the club or taking a tour of their facility to stop by their location at 1710 N. 2nd Street in Wausau. Memberships are only $20 for the year and can be done through the club’s website or at their location.
