WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) – November was a record month for interactions at the southern border with about a quarter of a million attempts, in the midst of a continuous crisis involving illegal immigration.
According to the Daily Wire, 242,418 encounters were reported on the southern border in November of fiscal year 2023 while a total of 308,728 encounters were reported by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) nationwide during the month.
Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Mark Green spoke about the record numbers in a statement saying, “By strategically holding the release of these numbers until the Friday before Christmas, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is unabashedly showing the full measure of his duplicity. These numbers are so bad, he wants as few Americans to see them as possible.”
NEW: Lukeville, AZ right now. Only 2 Border Patrol agents here to move this mass of hundreds of illegal immigrants from around the world to a processing area. We continue to see enormous numbers of men from Africa who tell us they are going to sanctuary cities around the US. pic.twitter.com/zTSVLJFTGp

The outlet reported that since the fiscal year 2021, there have been more than 7 million interactions along the southwest border with an estimated 1.7 million getaways.
This comes as reports of a caravan of about 8,000 migrants is currently making its way toward the U.S. southern border. On Wednesday, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Secretary of State Antony Blinken are scheduled to meet in Mexico City to talk about the ongoing border crisis.
In a Fox News poll conducted in late June among over 1,000 registered voters, it was shown that 62% of participants disagreed and only 35% approved of Biden’s handling of the border.
