WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The 2023 Asprius Festival of Trees raised $216,000 for the healthcare system’s Comfort Care and Hospice Service and Family House.
Fund Development Specialist Kim Smerda announced this year’s total in a letter to sponsors last week, saying that the money will go towards helping families “receive the highest level of compassionate care and a safe, affordable place to stay when traveling for medical services.”
The festival features trees and other holiday decorations donated by individuals and groups throughout the community. The decorations are displayed from Thanksgiving to early December at the Central Wisconsin Convention Center in Rothschild. The displays are auctioned to the highest bidder.
All money raised at the Festival of Trees from admission, raffle, and the silent auction will go towards Aspirus programs focusing on end-of-life care and housing options for families that are traveling for care.
