MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers and Marquette Golden Eagles saw large jumps in this week’s AP Top 25 rankings, with both now ranked in the top 10.
According to the AP, the Badgers jumped seven spots in this week’s poll and will now be ranked 6th in the nation following an 81-66 victory over the Michigan State Spartans over the weekend. Wisconsin is currently 16-4 on the season, which puts them a half-game ahead of the second-ranked Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten.
Offseason transfer A.J. Storr has continued to dominate for the Badgers, especially against Michigan State, where he scored 28 points on 9 for 17 shooting. Storr is now averaging 15.9 points per game and has scored 20 or more points twice in the last 10 days.
Meanwhile, the Marquette Golden Eagles saw a five-spot jump up to number 9 in the country following a 75-57 victory over Seaton Hall. The win moved the Golden Eagles into 3rd overall in the Big East and only two games behind the country’s top-ranked UConn Huskies for the Big East title. Marquette has now won four games in a row and will look to make it five when they face the Villanova Wildcats on Tuesday night.
