LAS VEGAS, NV (WSAU) The Kansas City Chiefs have cemented their dynasty. The Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl, and third in the last five seasons, after taking down the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Patrick Mahomes was awarded his third career Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 333 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also led the Chiefs in rushing with 66 yards on nine carries.
Mecole Hardman caught three passes for 57 yards including the game-winning score. Kansas City has now won four Super Bowl titles overall.
Brock Purdy completed 23 of his 38 pass attempts for 255 yards and a touchdown. Jauan Jennings also threw a TD pass for the Niners, who have lost each of their last three Super Bowl appearances.
