MOSINEE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Mayor of Mosinee Brent Jacobson said on Tuesday that he will run for the newly drawn 87th District in the Wisconsin Assembly this fall as a Republican.
One day has passed since Governor Tony Evers ratified new legislative maps and the new 87th district will include a portion of Marathon, Portage, and Waupaca counties.
The 39-year-old Jacobson has been Mosinee’s mayor since 2015 and his term will end in April 2025. He has also held several committee assignments while serving on the Marathon County Board.
Jacobson stated in an interview that he intends to spend the next few months knocking on doors to continue conversations with his constituents.
