The Badger women’s basketball team also earned a postseason invitation. Wisconsin was announced as one of 48 qualifiers to the Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament, or WNIT. Wisconsin was one of 37 at-large selections to the tournament, along with 11 automatic qualifiers.
The Postseason WNIT will announce the 48-team bracket and first-round matchups later today. The tournament is played at home venues through the championship, with schools bidding to host each round. This means it’s possible that the Badgers could host some games at the Kohl Center.
This year marks the 26th annual Postseason WNIT. Last year’s championship saw Kansas defeat Columbia at Phog Allen Fieldhouse.
