WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Another sure sign of summer lands in Wausau Wednesday evening.
The 2024 Concerts on the Square series begins with Hyde performing in the 400 Block from 6-8 PM. Wausau Events Executive Director Alissandra Aderholdt says it’s a way to celebrate the midway point of the workweek with family and friends. “It’s your mid-week break. It gives families a chance to pick up the kiddos after work, grab your friends, grab a beverage, and check out the different food vendors.”
The events are free and carry-in coolers are allowed. Each show will feature six food trucks.
Aderholdt and the team at Wausau Events started booking this year’s musicians nearly one year ago. “We’re looking for different genres, we try to offer something different each night [with a mix] of local and national acts.”

The concert series has been running for 31 years. The first few were held on Barker-Stewart Island before the events shifted to the 400 Block a few years later.
