DETROIT, MI (WSAU) – Jackson Chourio’s two run double lifted the Brewers to a 5-4 win over the Tigers on Saturday.
Christian Yelich had two hits and twi RBI. Brice Turang was on-base three times and scored twice.
“His last month, he hasn’t gotten to play every day but he’s helped us win a bunch of times and today was no exception,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. “Huge hit at a huge time.” He’s been in-and-out of the line up while struggling at the plate.
Brewers starter Freddy Peralta struggled early, allowing four runs and walking five through 3 1/3 innings. Jared Koenig (6-1) tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Trevor Megill got the last three outs for his ninth save.
The Brewers signed pitcher Elieser Hernandez to a one-year contract. He’d been released from the Dodgers.
