WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau-area Independence Day Fireworks show has been postponed to Saturday.
Wausau Events Executive Director Alissandra Aderholdt said the decision was made after consulting with local meteorologists, who said rain would likely impact the show. “This is the largest fireworks show that our organization and our fireworks team has ever done, and we cannot wait for the public to see it on Saturday.”
Gates at the downtown airport will open at 7:00 PM Saturday. Families are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and beverages. Weapons, pets, and smoking will not be allowed.
The show will launch at approximately 9:15 PM.
