WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A former D.C. Everest dance team coach appeared in Marathon County court on Thursday, accused of stealing more than $12,000 from the program.
Alexandria Villiard is accused of theft in a business setting after investigators say she merged some of the team’s finances into her own accounts. That includes pocketing money from dance clinics and selling dance team outfits to other groups without permission.
A judge ruled there was enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial. Villiard entered a not guilty plea.
She has since resigned as dance team coach.
Villiard told investigators that the dance team account’s shortfall was due to overspending.
She returns to court on October 1st.
