WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man suspected of leading police on a high-speed chase from Kronenwetter to Wausau will make a court appearance today.
Cody Mayotte will appear for charges including recklessly endangering safety, OWI causing injury, and possession of THC with the intent to distribute. Officers say the incident started with an attempted traffic stop on a vehicle driven by someone with an outstanding warrant.
The driver fled into the Mountain Bay Metro PD jurisdiction. Officers from that department got ahead of the vehicle and deployed spike strips to try and slow the vehicle down, but those were unsuccessful.
The chase wound into Wausau, ending when Mayotte crashed his vehicle near the Police Station.
Two officers were injured in the incident.
Numerous traffic citations have also been filed against Mayotte, who is being held without bond.
