SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — Authorities have uncovered new evidence related to the 2013 death of a Shawano County woman.
Officers from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, Shawano PD, and the Division of Criminal Investigation searched an area near Peach Road Thursday. That’s where the body of Heather Szekeres was found in 2014, one year after she went missing.
No details regarding the incident have been released, including what the officers were looking for.
Szekeres was last seen in July 2013 at a bar in downtown Shawano. No arrest has ever been made in connection with her death and disappearance.
