MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A two point night from Gavin Morrissey wasn’t nearly enough for the Badger men’s hockey team in a 4-2 setback to Lindenwood (MO) on opening night.
Morrissey scored with under five minutes remaining in the first period to level the score at 1 briefly, then assisted on a Ryland Mosley goal early in the 3rd.
The Lions got a pair of goals from David Gagnon.
Tommy Scarfone made 15 saves in the loss. His counterpart, Owen Bartoszkiewicz, was much busier with 34 saves in the win.
Game two of the series is at 6:00 PM at the Kohl Center. WSAU will not provide radio coverage.
The Badger women’s hockey team will open WCHA play this afternoon against Minnesota-Duluth at LaBahn Arena. The face-off is at 2:00 PM.
