WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Visit Wausau Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has been awarded a Ready, Set, Go! grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
The $25,000 award will help promote the tournament and “enhance the visitor experience,” according to a news release from Visit Wausau. The money will also help secure the necessary infrastructure, logistics, and marketing efforts to position Wausau as the ideal destination for this championship.
“We are honored to receive this grant, which reaffirms Wausau’s growing reputation as a premier destination for competitive sports events,” said Visit Wausau Executive Director Tim White. “This event will showcase our community to thousands of visitors, offering a unique opportunity to highlight everything that Wausau has to offer, from our vibrant downtown to our outstanding outdoor recreation facilities.”

The event traditionally brings between 700 and 1,500 players to one area over two weeks. Wisconsin has hosted the event before; in 2003 more than 1,300 pitchers came to Eau Claire to determine world champions.
The event will be held at the Greenheck Turner Community Center from July 13th-26th, 2026. The facility has also been awarded the 2029 event.
