EVANSTON, IL (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers football game is on a three-game winning streak, beating Northwestern 23-3.
The game remained close throughout the first half, until Northwestern fumbled deep in their own end with under a minute left until halftime. The Badgers took advantage and scored a touchdown, stretching their lead from 7-0 to 14-0.
Coach Luke Fickell said, “You see this complementary ball, you see this opportunistic team. That happens when you have poise and you have some confidence.”
Quarterback Braedyn Locke threw for a touchdown and ran for one more. Tawee Walker ran for 126 yards.
The Badgers improve to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten. They’ll host Penn State next Saturday at 7:30pm CT. Northwestern falls to 3-4.
