WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — With heavy snow expected Tuesday evening into early Wednesday, communities across Central Wisconsin have started declaring snow emergencies.
During a snow emergency, vehicles left on public streets may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. This allows public works crews to clear the roadway from curb to curb.
The following communities have declared a snow emergency:
- Stevens Point- from 11:59 PM Tuesday through Wednesday at 6:00 AM
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Marathon, Portage, Wood, Clark, Lincoln, Taylor, and Shawano Counties from late this afternoon to early Wednesday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas from Wautoma to Appleton, Green Bay, and Rhinelander.
