COLUMBUS, OH (WSAU) — Four first-period goals lifted Ohio State to a 4-2 win over Wisconsin in Big Ten hockey action on Thursday.
The Buckeyes scored twice in the first ten minutes of the contest. Their 4th goal came on the power play just before the end of the period. All four goals came against starting goaltender Robbie Beydoun.
Wisconsin subbed Freshman Cameron Rowe in to start the second. He stopped 14 shots over the final two periods.
Both of the Badger goals came in the 3rd from Jason Dhooghe and Cole Caufield.
The same two teams will skate Friday night in Columbus. Wisconsin then heads to East Lansing to battle Michigan State next Tuesday and Wednesday, December 8th and 9th.
