TIGERTON, WI (WSAU) — Shawano County Sheriff’s Officials have announced the seizure of more than two pounds of methamphetamine and $7,000 cash was found in a vehicle during a welfare check.
According to a Facebook post by Sheriff Adam Bieber, the incident started when his officers were trying to find a 36-year-old woman wanted for outstanding warrants at an address along Highway 45. While on the property, they discovered a 35-year-old Mosinee man sleeping in a vehicle.
Officers conducted a welfare check on him, then discovered he was wanted for outstanding meth charges. Officers then searched the vehicle and found nearly two pounds of meth and $7,000 in cash.
Officers then obtained a search warrant for the house on the property which turned up more drugs and drug-related items.
The 36-year-old woman and 35-year-old man were arrested without incident. The woman faces charges relating to her outstanding warrant, the man is being held on charges related to the incident at hand. No further details have been released as the investigation continues.
Names of those involved also have not been released.
