MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin’s rolling seven-day average of coronavirus cases continued to decline on Wednesday as testing rebounded from Tuesday.
The state Department of Health Services reported 1,177 new cases, or 20.1% of the 5,866 total tests reported. Fourteen more people were reported to have died from COVID-19 complications.
Seven-day averages moved to 1,270 new cases, 19.9% test positivity and 23 deaths. The average of deaths was the lowest since last Oct. 22.
Since the pandemic began, Wisconsin has reported 545,437 total cases, more than 2.5 million negative tests and 5,951 deaths. DHS lists 522,361 people as having recovered from COVID-19.
As of Wednesday, 613,247 doses of vaccine had bene administered in Wisconsin, with 117,367 people having completed their two-dose course of vaccinations.
Also on Wednesday, there were no patients at the state’s alternate care facility near Milwaukee.
Overall hospitalization numbers were expected to be updated later in the afternoon.
