MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — COVID-19 numbers on Mother’s Day continue to fall.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting 308 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths. That daily total is the lowest since 307 cases were recorded on April 5.
Sunday’s new cases account for 8% of the 3,809 test results processed.
As new daily cases continue to decrease, the 7-day average on Sunday shrunk to 553. Sunday’s average is the lowest since April 2 had a case average of 531.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 603,098 confirmed cases, over 2.8 million negative test results and 6,904 deaths.
The DHS considers 587,795 people to be recovered from COVID-19, while 8,133 cases are active.
A total of 4,695,483 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as just over 44% of residents (2,584,015 people) have received at least one dose and 37.3% (2,171,794 people) have completed their vaccination series.
During the week of May 2, the DHS says 184,505 doses were administered, which is the lowest weekly total since the week of January 17, where 107,546 were administered.
