GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU-WRN) — The Green Bay Packers’ 2021 Draft Class and Undrafted Free Agents met at the team’s facility this weekend for their first official rookie mini-camp and walkthroughs. But of course, it wasn’t the players in attendance that the media wanted to talk about after the proceedings were done.
It was Aaron Rodgers.
Head Coach Matt LaFleur said the team’s position hasn’t changed. “We still feel the same way. We want him back in the worst way. I know he knows that, and we will continue to work at it each and every day.”
Multiple reports have indicated that last year’s MVP is upset with management; with much of that said to center around last year’s decision to draft Utah State QB Jordan Love in the first round. That was made public just before the first round of this year’s draft, which led to a slew of insider reports stating everything from Rodgers has demanded a trade to he will only come back if the team fires some of its front-office personnel.
Rodgers has remained silent since word of his displeasure broke on Draft Day. Some have speculated that if there is a solution or any action to come from the situation, it will happen after June 1st because of the salary cap implications.
