WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Friendship man has been given a three-year probation sentence for threatening to bomb the Marathon County Courthouse during a phone call with Sheriff’s officials.
Krzysztof Wygoda was handed a three-year prison and probation sentence that was imposed and stayed. Should he complete the three years of probation and other elements, the sentence will be dropped.
According to officers Wygoda repeatedly called 911 in October 2020 and made multiple threats to blow up the building. Those included the use of a hand grenade and an F-1 fighter jet.
Recordings of the calls also show he referred to the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal building in the 1990s.
Conditions of his probation include completing treatment and counseling. He must also surrender all dangerous weapons.
The 62-year-old does have a history of mental illness and causing disturbances that have lead to arrests in Portage, Adams, and Marathon Counties. He has also previously served jail time in Illinois.
