MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A loss prevention specialist at the Marshfield Wal-Mart was punched by a customer suspected of not scanning items and switching tags for less expensive items last month.
According to a police report released to the media on Saturday, the incident occurred on May 17th at Wal-Mart on N Central Avenue. Officers say the employee confronted the shopper after they were observed passing items through a self-checkout without scanning them. Other items were found to have their tags switched.
When the loss prevention specialists confronted the unidentified female, she punched them and ran off. It’s estimated she got away with about $144 worth of merchandise.
According to the report, police haven’t been able to make contact with the suspect.
