COBB COUNTY, GA (WSAU) — The Atlanta Braves put together a five-run 7th inning to cap off an 8-1 win over Milwaukee on Saturday.
The Brewers struck first in the 2nd when Manny Pina grounded into a bases-loaded fielder’s choice that cut down Luis Urias at second but also allowed Ozzie Albies to score from 3rd. Atlanta would then tie things up in the 4th before taking the lead for good in the late innings.
Milwaukee recorded just seven hits in the game from three players- Lorenzo Cain finished 3-4, Kolten Wong was 2-4, and Avisail Garcia finished 2-3.
Brandon Woodruff suffered the loss in the game in 5.1 innings. John Curtiss allowed five runs on four hits in relief.
As a team Milwaukee went 0-10 with runners in scoring position and left 11 runners on base.
The same two teams will close out the three-game series this afternoon. Pregame coverage begins at 11:45 AM.
