WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — There is a conflict between a member of the Marathon County Board and a Wausau City Council member. WAOW TV is reporting that lawyers for board member William Harris have sent a cease-and-desist letter to Wausau Alderperson Debra Ryan.
The claim is that Ryan made defamatory statements against Harris and called his place of employment trying to get him fired for allegedly interfering with legal counsel with Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg.
Jeff Scott Olson is the attorney representing Harris and said a lawsuit would not be filed until Sept.9th to respond to the letter. He said the claim would be dismissed if Ryan made a public apology. Ryan could not be reached for comment.
