WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — Wood County Sheriff’s Officers say the search for a missing 15-year-old girl is over, and they are expecting to charge an 18-year-old in connection with her disappearance.
Elexa Cooley has been found and is safe, according to a news release. Officers are working to reunite her with her family, and they are asking everyone to respect their privacy in the matter.
Officers add they are looking to press charges against 18-year-old Roby Parker of Utah, who they had initially indicated may have been with Cooley when she was reported missing.
He was spotted in the Madison area shortly after her disappearance. Officers haven’t specified what charges could be brought forward, or how he knew the girl.
She went missing a little more than a week ago and for a while was believed to be in the Madison area. Officers had also surmised that she could be trying to return to Utah, where her family had recently moved from.
