WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man has agreed to a withheld sentence for violating the sex offender registry.
Jeremy Vaughn would avoid prison if he completes three years of probation. Vaughn was arrested in April after allegedly holding a machete to a woman’s throat and threatening to kill her. Those charges were later dismissed as part of a plea deal.
The 38-year-old did violate the state’s sex offender registry law by moving from Milwaukee to Wausau and not alerting authorities of the move. That is the charge that is part of this plea deal.
Vaughn must also maintain absolute sobriety and attend regular meetings with a probation officer. His next hearing is scheduled for Nov 19th.
