MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers announced their first off-season signing on Wednesday. They inked relief pitcher Trevor Gott to a one-year deal with a chance to make the team out of spring training.
Gott spent all of last season with the Giants AAA affilitate but does have alot of major league experience. He has pitched in 146 MLB games with the Angels, Nationals and Giants, going 13-6 with a 5.01 ERA and five saves.
The Brewers might have some open spots in the bullpen after a number of players have opted for free agency. They include pitchers Hunter Strickland, Brad Boxberger, Brent Suter, Brett Anderson, John Axford, Daniel Norris and Colin Rea. Eduardo Escobar and Manny Pina have also filed for free agency.
