WASHINGTON DC (MetrtoSource-WSAU) — Medicare premiums are going up.
The federal government on Friday night said Medicare Part B premiums were rising over 14 percent starting next year, boosting monthly payments for those in the lowest income bracket from about 148 dollars a month to about 170.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said, however, that most beneficiaries also collect Social Security and will see a cost-of-living adjustment next year of nearly six percent, which is the largest in 30 years.
