JUPITER, FLA (MetroSource-WSAU) — Major League Baseball and the Players Association are making a final push to end the league’s current lockout.
Multiple reports cited it was a strong day of progress on both sides Monday as they met a dozen times over the course of 15 plus hours. One area that reportedly came to resolution was an expansion to a 12-team postseason.
The sides were working hard to avoid delaying Opening Day, which is scheduled for March 31st. There was a proposed deadline set for the end of Monday, but talks continued past as progress was made for a new collective bargaining agreement.
A new deadline was set for 5pm Eastern time on Tuesday.
