MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Badgers could not withstand a poor shooting night and the loss of freshman point guard Chucky Hepburn to a severe ankle sprain as they were bounced from the NCAA Tournament by Iowa State 54-49 on Sunday at Fiserv Forum.
The Badgers were just 2-22 from three-point range and shot 29.8% overall. They were also only 76% from the free throw line.
Hepburn went down with a little over 4 minutes left in the first half and did not score in the game. Johnny Davis led the Badgers with 17 points and nine rebounds but was only 4-16 from the field and 0-7 from three point range. Brad Davison had 12 points.
The rest of the Badgers struggled with seven players combining for 20 points.
Wisconsin finishes the season 25-8.
