STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Just as quickly as Stevens Point Police announced a suspect in Monday’s carjacking in the Target parking lot, he was arrested.
Police identified the suspect as William Gentry of Soddy Daisy, TN and released a photo of him shortly after 9:30 Thursday morning.
Thirty minutes later he was in custody.
According to police, they were able to track the stolen vehicle to an approximate location in Springfield, Missouri. Officers there were able to locate the vehicle and Gentry at a hotel, and arrested him without incident.

Officers have confirmed that the vehicle was impounded, and no further information will be released at this time. Gentry faces charges of armed robbery with the use of force and armed carjacking.
