A few court hearings and a public information meeting are on the docket today.
Matiulla Matie is due in court today for a pre-trial conference. You may remember he’s the recently resettled refugee who’s accused of misdemeanor sexual assault. Those charges stem from a complaint by a woman who says he made unwanted advances toward her while she was helping him and his family resettle.
Matie is also scheduled for a jury status conference on July 6th with a one-day trial on July 27th.
Travis Errthum will also be in court today for a final pre-trial conference before a one-day jury trial on June 22nd for charges of possessing child pornography. He’s pled not guilty to the charges because of mental disease or defect, saying he has an addiction to young girls.
Errthum has previously served time for child porn charges back in the early 2000s.
