NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — A seven run 5th inning blew open the game and the Milwaukee Brewers went on to beat the New York Mets 10-2 on Wednesday night at Citi Field.
The win was the 564th of Craig Counsell’s managerial career with Milwaukee breaking Phil Garner’s record who managed from 1992-99.
Willy Adames, Luis Urias and Jace Peterson all had two RBIs. Andrew McCutchen, Victor Caratini, Lorenzo Cain and Mark Mathias also drove in runs. Adames was 3-5 on the night.
Corbin Burnes went six innings with 8 Ks to pick up the win. Miguel Sanchez and Peter Strzelecki combined for two scoreless innings.
The two teams finish their series tonight…pre game show at 5:35 on WSAU.
