CHICAGO, IL (WSAU) — Home runs from Rowdy Tellez, Andrew McCutchen, and Hunter Renfroe didn’t produce a win for the Brewers on Friday, as the Cubs got the best of their Central Division rivals 8-7.
Christian Yelich and Renfroe both recorded two hits on the day, with five others recording a single knock a piece including Tellez and McCutchen. Tyrone Taylor added a double and a run scored in the losing effort.
Renfroe’s 3rd-inning blast ricocheted off the scoreboard at Wrigley.
Aaron Ashby left the game with a no-decision after allowing eight hits and six earned runs. Hoby Milner was charged with both a blown save and the loss, falling to 3-2 on the season.
Patrick Wisdom and Christopher Morel both homered in the win for the Cubs.
