WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A former employee of a Rib Mountain business will serve jail time and pay restitution for stealing from the company to pay her own bills.
Shelby Lynch will serve a four-month sentence in the Marathon County Jail after entering a no contest plea to one count of forgery.
The 24-year-old was also given a six-year probation sentence that has been withheld. Conditions of that include the completion of all therapy or counseling, maintaining full-time employment or schooling, and paying a minimum of $250 per month in restitution.
The sentence was handed down earlier this month. Charges stemmed from incidents that were caught on the company’s surveillance cameras between October and November of 2021. Amounts taken varied from around $500 to nearly $7,000 each day.
According to investigators, she took nearly $32,000 during that time. More than $10,000 in cash was found in her home at the time of the investigation.
